Morning Microwave Miso

Just a quick one, because it's finals week, and I should be doing holiday things/studying/cleaning.

Recently I went to my local Asian Market and purchased a few fun items-Rose paste-an indonesian baking flavoring that colors confections pink and makes them taste like rose, Mori-nu extra firm silken tofu-awesome hermetically sealed tofu that is 'created' in it's own container, and finally, at long last a big bag of miso! Miso traditionally is super expensive in stores, but I found a huge bag for only 3.99! So check your local world markets, you might find a deal. I chose white miso, which has a milder flavor, but you might choose red, which has a deeper more savory flavor. It makes a great quick breakfast or lunch when combined with diced silken tofu, green onion, and maybe some sea vegetable.

So here it is. 5 minute Morning Microwave Miso Soup!

3 cups water
3 tablespoons miso paste (I used white, it's mild)
1 green onion, diced
1/3 package silken tofu, diced
1 Tablespoon sea vegetable-like nori or wakame, in strips.

Put the water, miso, and tofu in a bowl. Microwave for 3 and a half minutes or until hot. Stir to dissolve the miso paste. Add scallions and sea vegetable if wanted. Eat with a spoon!

Here's some information about the benefits of miso:

More soon, as i'm getting a better camera soon! Yay!
